Where is the best place to play cash games in Florida? Many say the Hard Rock, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. With so many night clubs within walking distance, drunk twenty something year old guys pour out of the woodwork at around 2 am, looking to impress their friends. Local cash game players are waiting to separate them from their money. Of course these fish can get lucky on any given hand. How many times have you seen your aces get craked by the donkey with two unsuited rags? Well, I say let the odds play themselves, and if you're looking for a loose cash game in Florida, check out the Hard Rock poker room, late night on a weekend. Please share you're experiences with us, we love a good bad beat or a profitable poker session story.

Best Poker Tournament in South Florida

Where is the best poker tournament in South Florida? Well if your looking for poker in Orlando, I have bad news for now. It makes no sense, why doesn't the state and the city governments want to cash in on casinos. They could give Las Vegas the final blow, with Disney World for the kids during the day, and poker and slots for mom and dad at night! Not to mention all additional people who would attend conventions if they added poker in Orlando. My belief is that Disney wants to keep their family oriented image, and has been blocking the addition of poker in Orlando. But, as the recession hits this tourist destination city hard, Orlando may soon be looking for sources of extra revenue, and poker just may be their solution.

New Gulfstream Casino

Has anybody been watching the new Gulfstream Casino construction project? From my "inside" sources, it seems that there is a deal pending with the Seminole Indians. If the Seminole Indians do not approve this deal, then everything stays the same and the limits will NOT go up in Florida poker. Basically, they say that the deal where our beloved governor gave the Seminole Indians blackjack was overturned by the Florida Supreme Court. Therefore the fact that the Seminoles are still offering blackjack at the Hardrock casino is technically illegal. The deal has been reworked and approved by Florida legislators, but has not been signed off on yet by the Indians. In a nutshell, the new deal extends the Seminole Indians the right to offer blackjack, and allows the Florida poker rooms to extend their hours to 18 hours per day, and increased buy-ins on poker. Each Florida casino will have their own house rules as to the buy in of each game, however most will offer a $200 to $300 buy-in on the $1 -$2 no limit, $500 - $1,000 on the $2, $5 no limit, and up to $5,000 on the $5 - $10 no limit games. Tournaments will also get larger, as they will no longer be capped at $850 buyins. Look for the WPT to come to Florida with buyins at $10,000. Come on Seminoles, sign the paperwork!

Dania Jai alai Poker Tournaments

Have you played in the Dania Jai alai Poker Tournaments lately? I'm talking about the weekly Friday night tournament at Dania Jai alai. It's a $100 buy-in, and they average about 180 players per week. I like it because it's a deep stack tournament. Dania Jai alai starts you with 10,000 chips, and the blinds increase every 30 minutes. There is usually a chop at the final table, because the Dania Jai Lai Poker tournaments have enough money in the prize pool to make it equitable enough to not go to the end.
